Modern day surfing has mythical status in popular
culture. Surfers seem to surround themselves in a
mystique that makes their passion seem so undeniably
cool! It helps of course, that Point Break was
such a huge hit with both male and female audiences and
really propelled surfing as a pastime into the public
eye.
Surfing
lessons are a great way to spend part of your Stag
Weekend or Hen Weekend. Your lesson will take you
through the basics and end up with you riding your first
wave!
Newquay is
the most famous surf spot in the UK and the infamous
Cribber reef can, on the right day, give huge 30 foot
waves. These are probably a bit much for your
first lesson but definitely something to aspire to! |
Surf Gangs such as
those seen in the
Movie Point Break
really do exist and
are known as
Da hui in Malibu and
Hawaii. They
will often defend
their stretch of
beach with threats
of violence!
